Behavior Technician

 Classification: Hourly (Non-Exempt) 

Job Type: Full-Time or Part Time

Reports To: Clinical Supervisor

Summary/Objective  
Responsible for providing intensive behavioral intervention services to clients with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental delays in language, cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication development. The behavior technician is ultimately responsible for direct delivery of the behavioral services to the children and families, as well as accurate collection of data, record keeping of session notes and excellent communication with the Clinical Supervisor about the program and the progress of the behavior service plans. The Behavior Technician maintains a weekly billable caseload of service hours as directed by the Director of Clinical Services. 

 

Essential Functions 

·       Provide direct therapy in individual and group sessions. 

·       Implements individualized treatment plan as written and directed by the Clinical Supervisor or Lead BCBA. 

·       Collects accurate data on client skill acquisition targets and behavior goals. Maintain client's program book and graphs data as instructed.

·       Assists Clinical Supervisor with implementing individualized goals and checklists. 

·       Maintains dignity and confidentiality for all clients. 

·       Maintains and protects the wellbeing of all clients. 

·       Completes and submits session notes and other paperwork on time and manages client PHI in accordance with HIPAA.

·       Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet Florida’s driving requirements 

·       Dependable means of transportation

·       Actively communicates Florida Behavior Support, LLC’s outreach efforts to community 

·       Adheres to the mission, vision, and values of Florida Behavior Support, LLC 

 

Required Education and Experience: 

·       A minimum of one year’s experience working with children

·       High School Diploma, Required. An associate degree and educational coursework completed in the areas of marriage and family therapy, child development, special education, psychology, or related field, Highly Preferred

·       RBT Certification, Required (Paid training is available to become a Registered Behavior Technician)

 

Work Environment & Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time. 

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. 

  • Moderate to high stress levels. 

  • Work will take place in a center-based setting. However, work may fluctuate between a center and school setting depending on the need of each client.

  • Regular contact with Parent/guardian(s)

  • Hazards: Incumbent may be exposed to contact with individuals displaying physically aggressive, self-abusive, or socially undesirable behavior. 

  • Ability and willingness to travel between center and school for specific clients, as assigned, in a punctual manner. 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

 This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.

 

Travel 

 This position currently does not require travel. However, clients who are ready to transition into our school support program will require services to be provided in school and/or center.
